Digital Transcripts recognise the importance of our clients’ privacy
and confidentiality. We maintain strict compliance with the National Privacy Principles contained
in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth), as well as the Guidelines on Privacy in the Private Health Sector
issued by the Federal Privacy Commissioner under the National Health Act 1953 (Cth). You can view

Australian National Privacy Principles are compliant with Health Insurance Portability and
Accountability Act (HIPAA USA), directives from the Information Commissioners Office (UK) and NZ
Privacy Standards.
End to
end protection using 128 bit SSL encryption
The Digital Transcripts web portal allows the flow of digital files from
uploading audio, to the transcription process and download of documents, via SSL 128 bit
encryption together with password protected client directories. The client can set their own
password which is not stored by Digital Transcripts. The whole process is protected end to
end.
Confidentiality
Agreements
All staff of
Digital Transcripts are required to read, understand and sign a confidentiality agreement before
commencing work with us.
Purging of documents and corresponding audio files
Documents transcribed by Digital Transcripts are stored
until payment of invoice by the client. At regular intervals, documents and audio are purged from
archives and servers.
